We have checking accounts for high school and college students as well as those who have been unable to open an account due to previous banking history.

This account is a great way to begin managing your money. Plus, with our conveniently located banking centers and 24-Hour access to ATM’s, online and mobile banking, you can literally access your money whenever you need it.

High School Checking benefits include

  • Monthly service fee is $4.95, but can be easily waived when the account is linked to a parent or guardian’s Bank of Oklahoma personal checking account.2 This account must be co-owned by a parent or guardian.

Other important details
  • After a client’s high school period has expired, they may be eligible to qualify for a College Checking account.
  • When the student turns 19 year old, the bank will convert the account to Basic Checking. See current Basic Checking account details found within the Personal and Small Business Checking and Savings Solutions brochure.
  • Online BillPay is not available with the High School Checking account.
  1. If you chose to receive a monthly statement via postal mail, a statement fee of $1.50 will be assessed each month. You can avoid the statement fee by enrolling in free Online Banking and signing up for Online Statements at www.bankofoklahoma.com. See Online Banking terms and conditions for hardware/software requirements.
  2. To avoid the monthly service fee, the high school checking account must be linked to a qualifying parent or guardian’s Bank of Oklahoma personal checking account that maintains a positive balance. Qualifying accounts exclude College Checking.

Use our free services, such as Online Banking and ATMs, to make deposits and transfer money. If the account has Teller assisted transaction activity, a $5 fee will be charged per statement cycle.

  • When the student turns 25 year old, the bank will convert the account to Choice Checking. See current Choice Checking account details found within the Personal and Small Business Checking and Savings Solutions brochure.
  1. This account is available to students 24 years old and younger, minimum age of 18 years old. To qualify for this account, the student must provide proof of enrollment in post secondary school, such as a college, university or vocational school with a valid student identification card.
  2. If you chose to receive a monthly statement via postal mail, a statement fee of $1.50 will be assessed each month. You can avoid the statement fee by enrolling in free Online Banking and signing up for Online Statements at www.bankofoklahoma.com See Online Banking terms and conditions for hardware/software requirements.
  3. There is no monthly maintenance fee. The first 15 BillPay transactions per statement cycle are free, $0.40 per BillPay transaction thereafter.
  4. Monthly Maintenance Fee Details:
    1. Qualify Direct Deposit. Qualifying direct deposits are deposits of regular monthly income of at least $100 per statement cycle which are deposited electronically to your account through the automated clearinghouse (ACH). Examples would be your salary, pension, government benefit payment, such as Social Security, or regular monthly income from an employer or third party. Other types of transfers and deposits do not qualify. Examples of non-qualifying transfers and deposits include: deposits made at a banking location or ATM, wire transfers, Online Banking transfers, non-periodic direct deposits (such as tax refunds or payments) or transfers from one account to another.
    2. Use your Debit Card at least 12 times per statement cycle to avoid a monthly maintenance fee. ATM transactions, such as withdrawals, deposits or transfers are not eligible.
